Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Teras platform, website, and services (collectively, the “Services”) provided by Centre For Cyber Skills Institute Pte. Ltd. (“Teras”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By accessing or using Teras, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Teras, you represent that you are at least 13 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. If you are using Teras on behalf of an institution (university, school, or organisation), you represent that you are authorised to accept these Terms on that institution's behalf.

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Teras regarding your use of the Services and supersede any prior agreements.

2. Description of Service

Teras is a practitioner-grade cybersecurity training platform for institutional use. The Services include:

  • Access to curriculum modules, hands-on labs, and assessments
  • Student learning management and progress tracking
  • Faculty administrative tools and course management
  • Analytics and reporting for institutional partners
  • Customer support and technical assistance

Access to specific features and modules depends on your subscription tier and institutional agreement. Teras reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

3. User Accounts and Responsibilities

Account Creation: To use Teras, you must create an account with accurate, complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

Your Responsibilities: You agree to use Teras only for lawful purposes and in compliance with these Terms. You will not:

  • Access or use Teras if you are not the authorised user
  • Share your login credentials with others
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to Teras systems or data
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to discover the source code of Teras
  • Use Teras to harass, threaten, or harm others
  • Transmit malware, viruses, or any code intended to disrupt Teras

4. Intellectual Property

Teras IP: All content, curriculum, code, graphics, logos, and materials on Teras are the intellectual property of Teras or our licensors, protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws. You have a limited, non-exclusive licence to access and use Teras for your authorised purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of Teras materials without express written permission.

Your Content: By submitting content to Teras (assignments, discussion posts, feedback), you grant Teras a non-exclusive licence to use, display, and distribute that content for educational and analytical purposes. We do not claim ownership of your personal academic work. However, for institutional partners, aggregated, anonymised learning data may be retained for analytics and curriculum improvement.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Teras in any manner that:

  • Violates any law, regulation, or these Terms
  • Infringes on the rights of others (intellectual property, privacy, etc.)
  • Violates academic integrity or honour codes (cheating, plagiarism, unauthorised collaboration)
  • Disrupts or impairs Teras or its infrastructure
  • Transmits unsolicited communications, spam, or commercial solicitations

Teras reserves the right to monitor use, investigate violations, and take corrective action including account suspension or termination.

6. Limitation of Liability

Disclaimer:Teras is provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Teras disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation: In no event shall Teras, its directors, employees, or agents be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of revenue, profits, data, or goodwill, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for your subscription in the 12 months preceding the claim.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Teras and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of Teras, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

8. Confidentiality

By accessing Teras, you may encounter confidential information,curriculum content, methodology, proprietary tools, and unreleased materials. You agree to maintain the confidentiality of this information and not disclose it to unauthorised parties without express written consent from Teras.

9. Termination

Teras may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Services, without notice, if you violate these Terms, engage in prohibited conduct, or if you no longer maintain a valid institutional affiliation (for student and faculty accounts). Upon termination, your right to access Teras ceases, and Teras may delete your account data subject to legal retention requirements.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore, without regard to its conflict of law principles. You irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.

11. Dispute Resolution

Before pursuing litigation, you and Teras agree to attempt to resolve any dispute through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, you may submit your claim to binding arbitration under Singapore's arbitration rules, or pursue litigation in Singapore courts.

12. Third-Party Links and Content

Teras may include links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third-party sites. Your use of third-party services is governed by their terms and policies, not these Terms.

13. Changes to These Terms

Teras may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or prominent notice on our website. Your continued use of Teras constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. For institutional partners, major changes to these Terms will be subject to your subscription agreement terms.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be severed and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
